Uudised14th Meeting of the European Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics (14.detsember 2008)
On behalf of Organizing Committee of the 14th Congress of European Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics (ESNCH) we would like to invite you to take a part in this meeting which will be held from 23 to 25 of May in Riga, Latvia.
The ESNCH unites physicians dealing in the field of cerebrovascular diseases. Today it is characterized as the most successful Neurosonology group in the world with the No.1-forum for the transfer of new ideas. Our members define the neurovascular standards in Europe and beyond. Furthermore the officers of our Society have strong relations to other important European neurological societies, as the EFNS Task Forces or the European Stroke Council, which increases the ESNCH influence. Its major activity is to support the International Congress on Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics which is held annually in changing European countries, usually preceding the European Stroke Conference (ESC). The 14th ESNCH meeting in 2009 will be followed by the ESC in Stockholm, May 26-29. It is a great honor for the Baltic Societies of Neurologists, Neurosonologists and Stroke specialists that Riga had been chosen to host the next Conference of the ESNCH in May 23-25th, 2009. A large number of neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists and their associates from Europe, Japan, China, Israel, and the United States of America as well as Neurosonologists and specialists in Stroke from the Baltic countries will attend the 3-day conference. Full day tutorials for neurosonologists interested to learn ultrasound examination of cerebral circulation will cover theoretical aspects as well as practical work with ultrasound machines. Lectures and poster presentations will be devoted to prevention and diagnosis of cerebrovascular diseases by ultrasound investigation of the heart, carotid and vertebral arteries and intracranial vessels as well as evaluation of the efficacy of vasoactive drugs as antihypertensives, lipid lowering agents, platelet inhibitors and thrombolytic agents.
This conference is a great opportunity for specialists working daily in the field of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cerebrovascular disease to be introduced with up-to-date ultrasound technology, listen the lectures from European authorities in the field of Neurosonology and exchange the experience with colleagues from different countries. We anticipate that the mix of formal and informal scientific discussions, practical sessions and technical exhibition as well as a stay in a beautiful city will create a rewarding visit to Riga.
